Yes - for valid Health Care Card holders, Pensioners and children under 16. If you do not meet these requirements, but are in need of assistance, please talk to your doctor at the start of your consult.
FHC runs Telehealth in a similar manner to in-person appointments. You book online or over the phone, choose an appropriate time for yourself, and then your doctor will call you within a few minutes of the time you have booked.
We ask that when making a telehealth appointment, that your phone is charged, the sound is on, and you have it near you at your allotted time.
YES! We use a TYRO eftpos machine that allow us to put your Medicare Rebate straight back into your nominated bank account (attached to your debit card). We can refund to Cheque or Savings accounts, but not Credit.
You CAN pay by credit and then use your cheque or savings account card to receive your rebate.
With the advent of Covid 19, and Medicare allowing the more widespread use of Telehealth as a viable option for simple things like scripts and simple referrals, we are able to offer Telehealth appointments to patients of the practice. This still requires a booking, but you can now deal with your regular scripts over the phone where ever you are.
Please note: New patients will still need to attend an in-person appointment for their first FHC visit.
Medical certificates are issued during your consultation with the Doctor. These cannot be backdated, so please attend the practice sooner rather than later. For a regular patient of the practice, you can now book a telehealth appointment for medical certificates.
Your Doctor will usually give you a time frame in which to book a follow up appointment to go over your test results in person. In most cases, the Doctor will prefer to see you in person rather than call you with results (there are a few exceptions in the cases of INRs etc).
If you do not already have a follow up appointment, please call the practice after a week to book one.
In most cases your doctor will be happy for you to book a telehealth appointment for your results, please check with them if this is an appropriate follow-up for your tests.
FHC is located at 441 Great Western Highway in Faulconbridge. Our car park is accessed via Coomassie Ave. We are the Blue & Grey Buildings right next to the Faulconbridge Chinese Restaurant and Directly across the road from the antiques store.
You can get to FHC most easily via car. There is a bus stop a couple of hundred metres up the highway from FHC. FHC has a couple of taxi waiting areas - one at the back, next to the disabled parking spaces, and one at the front of the grey house under cover). We can help ring the Taxi company of your choice once your consult is over.
